BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

Each and everytime I meet someone, regardless of age, gender, status or race, I make it a point to create a cozy ambiance between us so that both of us can be comfortable and open....open to a new friendship...for odesk buyer and provider for instance, don't you think it would be easier to work with someone if you know a little about the person? If the person is easy to get a long with, then both of you can work in a breeze. There is always a room for open communication, short stories of life and flowered words...sometimes you should make an effort to make that room. It may be harder for some people, like workaholic businessmen and women, who sometimes keeps their distance and builds that gap in a employee and employer relationship in clear efforts. That is really hard and it may take years for them to let their guard down. But there are a lot of people who are open to instant friendship too. Unexplainable sometimes but you find people who seem to be long lost friends of yours and hit that instant connection. No fuzz no frills :-) Don't get me wrong there is always a disadvantage in all these.....When people get too comfortable with each other sometimes we forget that line between friendship and business too. That is just us being human. But sooner or later you wake up to the reality of it. You are still branded. Buyer and Provider....As of now, I have built good friendships among my buyers and guess what newbies it helps me a lot!! Bottom line here is a simple equation Building Relationships = Better Results = $$$ ....Yes my dear newbies it can eventually lead to some income, like in odesk when a buyer gets comfortable with you they hire you again for jobs no matter how simple...This is my experience and it sure did me good! Thank you to my new found friends!!!

TIPS FOR NEW PROVIDERS Part 1

Hey newbie!

We are at the same stage actually and I know how you feel....If you haven't been on any project since you joined odesk well it can really get frustrating i know the feeling...so here is tip number one: BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND DON'T GIVE UP .... know what you can do best and tell the buyers how you can actually do it and provide a great service. Apply on those jobs which suit you, set aside the buyers budget just yet work on little projects and start building your career.... Tip #2 KEEP APPLYING you've got 20 job application quotas each week use them up you never know when you can land a job you want. And ultimately you get to accept or decline it as you wish... Let me share a recent experience ok? I applied for a data entry job and it was for $10 (the budget was kinda low considering i have taken 3 jobs higher than it for the same job description). Keyword here is applied and so on my cover letter I wrote I would love to know more about the job post. The buyer without any word hired me on the spot. Where I found out he was asking me to do 850 listings in 24hours. Personally, I don't find it reasonable. But I still tried and did the first 2 pages about 12 listings for him then I emailed back ( spent an hour on this one too ). On my email I said we would have to do something about the price of the project as I have done a lot less with a lot more $$$ in it. She can opt to find a replacement if she wants too. She did not email me but just ended the assignment. The experience saddened me..... watch out for the my next blog....

JOB DONE...YAY!!!!!!!

Hey there! I am finally done with the job assignment and just waiting feedback from my Australian buyer. He is really helpful and nice to talk to. I pray all my future buyers will be like him...Or should I wait to publish this until he gives me the feedback? What do you think? ;-) LOL... whatever he decides to put on there would really give me something to think about. If it is less than I deserve...WHY???? oh why??? (hehehehhe) if it is a 5 star max then I will take it on as a challenge to even do better for my next jobs to come and maintain that rating...that would be a long and challenging road to a successful odesk career!

Woohoo! I am proud to have started an online job!

ODESK....sigh...tsk.tsk.tsk......tick-tock....BOOM!

It's been a month and some days....still no jobs. To be fair with odesk I only concentrated when I received my debit card about a few days ago...I did have a client from Australia who was suppose to hire me because I passed his test but we had the typhoon and he needed the job done immediately...poor me on the job hunt once again. Up until yesterday, Emz from manila hired me to do a very simple job for a small price which I would have loved to do even without the pay. Have I known it was a great site he was building for filipino freelancers just like me. Way to go Emz!

Here I am now back to where I started infront of my laptop and still job hunting...focus focus focus!

OMG...I totally forgot this!!! Btw, I got hired by an Australian buyer! I got engrossed in doing the web research and I forgot to post this hahahahahahaha way to excited! Well, providers don't lose hope I got a job so can you! Its almost 5am I think I got to take a rest and resume working when I wake up....Ciao!
